RED and RIDE EM’ COWBOY–UPCOMING RELEASES

I should be finished with the edits on RED by next Friday. (Note the new cover by Dar and the new blurb by yours truly. *g) Once they’re done, I’ll send them to my formatter, which will hopefully mean that the book will be released before the 25th of June. I’d hoped to get RIDE EM’ COWBOY finished before I crossed the pond, but I don’t think it’s going to happen unless I have a miraculous burst of speed. That said, it should be out by the end of July/beginning of August. It’s novella length. Wasn’t really meant to be any longer, but I still want to make sure that the story is good and worth the money. 🙂 To tease you with it, I’m posting the new cover by Dar Dixon of Wicked Smart Designs. I personally think she did a great job. 🙂 What do you think?

I SURVIVED PHOENIX COMICON

Hello! I’m watching tumbleweeds blow by as I dust off my blog. It’s honestly taken this long for me to recover from ComiCon, but I had a blast hanging with Marcy Rockwell, Gini Koch, T.L. Smith, Raul, Edward, and Joseph (and so many more). The panels were fun. They always take really good care of us. Great people all around.

I got to meet John Barrowman, who was as wonderful as I’d hoped. More so really. Thought he was the bee’s knees before. Now I utterly adore him. <3 He and Mike Rooker are genuinely what celebrities should aspire to be like. I have never seen two people work so hard to make their fans happy. They stayed HOURS after they were scheduled to leave in order to sign autographs and take pictures. Did they make money while doing so? You betcha! But they didn’t have to extend their hours or add extra sessions. They genuinely earned fans for LIFE at Phoenix ComiCon.

I’ve also been finishing up an online class about ebook publishing by Amy Atwell. I know it seems odd that after twenty-seven books I’d take a class on self-publishing, but there was a lot I didn’t understand. I now have a better grasp of metadata, release planning, uploading to Apple, social media, search words, newsletters, etc. I’m a little overwhelmed, but know what I have to get accomplished in the next few weeks before we head out to the UK (ie Facebook page (not looking forward to it), newsletter/mailing list, RED released, and possibly contemporary cowboy story). The latter depends on how fast I can write. I will be VERY busy. If you need some extra help with your self-publishing journey, I highly recommend taking one of their many classes. 🙂

On a completely separate note, we went to see ‘NOW YOU SEE ME‘. I frickin’ LOVED this movie. Didn’t see the ending coming at all, which only made me love it more. The story is about some famous (and not so famous) magicians/illusionists, who end up pulling a heist, but it’s not your typical heist movie. Nothing is as it appears. Again, trust me, just go see it. You will not regret it…unless of course you hate magicians and illusionists. *ggg
