I received a couple of emails to let me know that Red, Kane, and Raphael have officially been released. I’m still waiting for them to pop up on Apple and Kobo, but hopefully that won’t take too long. I’m excited about this relaunch because it’s given me a chance to rebrand the series as a sci-fi/fantasy thriller. Red was never a comfortable fit for paranormal romance. Yes, there is a romance in the book. No, that’s not what the main plot is about. At its heart it’s a crime novel. I actually toned the romance down in Red because parts of it seemed out of place. Raphael and Kane do not have romances in them at all. They are set during the war that created the post-apocalyptic world that Red lives in.
I know that the genre change might upset some of my readers. That was not my intention. There is more romance in Scarlet, but again, this series is about one woman’s journey of self-discovery. Ultimately, it’s Red’s story.
I hope you like it. 🙂
