Not Exactly How I Planned, But Oh Well

I uploaded MOONLIGHT KIN 3: NIC yesterday to all the websites. Imagine my surprise when Amazon and Barnes & Noble had it up within an hour. This wrecked my plan to leisurely send out my ENDLESS SUMMERS newsletter. I’ve spent the morning and all of my afternoon so far sending the newsletter out, updating my website, talking to reader sites about ads, and updating all the distributors with series’ info. Did I mention that I also started a writing class today? No? Well, I did. Silly me. *ggg

Anyway, I’m about to take a look at my writing class and finally get to my daily word count. In the meantime, meet Nic. My first “regular guy” hero. I kind of like the idea, so he won’t be my last. Below you’ll find the book cover and the blurb:

nic 250 x 400

Werewolf Nic La Croix has been nursing a bruised heart ever since he fell for his Alpha’s mate. The last thing he wants is to play white knight for a human female who has no business being in a shifter bar.

Mindy MacDougal has spent most of her life being her big sister’s keeper. Just once she’d like to do something for herself. When a night on the town takes a deadly turn, an unlikely hero comes to her rescue. One kiss is all it takes to draw her into Nic’s dark world. What will Mindy do when she finds out that the monster isn’t under her bed, he’s in it?

As an added enticement, I’ve put MOONLIGHT KIN 1: A WOLF’S TALE on sale for two weeks. So now is the time to get it before the price goes up. 🙂 AMAZON, B & N, and KOBO.

Back From RT, Back To Work

Had a fun time in New Orleans, which is something I thought I’d never hear myself say. (I had a bad experience there years ago and vowed never to go back.) I’m glad I gave the city a second chance. Met up with a lot of authors. Some were friends. Some were acquaintances. All were nice to talk to. 🙂 Also encountered a lot of lovely local people, who helped change my mind about the city.

Now I’m back trying to get ready for Phoenix ComiCon. If you heard screaming and running around, that was just me panicking. ComiCon will be my last professional appearance for the year. I’d wanted to go to the Novelist Inc. conference in St. Pete, but we have a family wedding to attend.

Moonlight Kin 3: Nic is officially done. It’s sitting at 52,500 words, so nice medium length. I have the edits back and they’re finished. I plan to send him off to the formatter today. No idea how long it’ll take to get him back. My wonderful cover designer is currently constructing a Facebook ad and designing bookmarks for me to sign at ComiCon.

I tried to update my Goodreads’ page, but it wouldn’t let me. I wanted to change the status of one of my “To Read” books to “Read”. Not sure what’s happening there, but I hope they get it fixed. I get excited when I can change the status of my bookshelf, especially when it’s to get rid of something from my To Be Read pile.

I’ll begin designing my next newsletter today. Hopefully I’ll get it done by the end of the weekend. Fingers and toes crossed. If you haven’t signed up to receive it, now’s your chance. There will be sneak peeks inside the newsletter of things that won’t come out for a few months.

Off To The Romantic Times Convention In New Orleans

I’m packed. Moonlight Kin: Nic is edited. It will be proofed in two weeks, then it’s off to the formatter. I will let you know a release date as soon as I have a better idea of how long formatting will take.

Tomorrow I’m off to the Romantic Times Convention in New Orleans. All my friends are coming, so I am excited to see them. It’s been a while since I’ve seen several of them. My mom is joining me for a few days before the conference starts. Really looking forward to exploring the graveyards, eating beignets, and going on ghost tours with her. (My love of monsters had to come from somewhere. 😉

I’ll be tweeting quite a bit I’m sure, but probably won’t post much for obvious reasons. I am currently fiddling with three different books (Archangels of Punishment: Death Angel, Moonlight Kin: Tristan, and Hawk’s Slave) to see which one takes off. I’m also working my way through Dead World 3: Crimson edits/rewrites. It should be out by the end of June. Yes, I plan to meet a minimum daily word count while I’m away.
